Dawn Wachenuka is a highly skilled and engaging counsellor who has been in practice for more than 30 years. Dawn works with individuals, couples, and families across a wide range of presenting concerns.
Dawn has a deeply grounded approach and ensures all clients truly get what they need from seeking support. She focuses on creating an opportunity to empower her clients to overcome personal challenges and create positive lasting change. Drawing on her experience, Dawn works with tools that suit her clients’ needs. She knows each individual client is unique and therefore draws from her extensive experience and training to tailor sessions specifically to the needs of her clients.
In sessions, Dawn utilises a range of therapeutic approaches such as Thought Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness and Meditation approaches, Attachment Theory and Family Systems Therapy, Problem Solving and Solution Focused approaches, Narrative Therapy amongst many more to guide her clients toward lasting change and personal growth. Dawn believes that clients can take full responsibility for their wellbeing, but there are times when they need a helping hand to guide them along the way and this is where she can assist you. Dawn sees the whole counselling process as an empowering journey for her clients.
