Jules Silva brings many years of experience as a counsellor to her work with clients as they navigate the many challenges and complexities of their inner lives, their relationships, and their lives in general. Jules’ counselling practice is supported by comprehensive training, and she holds clinical membership with both PACFA and the ACA. Jules’ practice is focused on working with individual adult clients and couples.
Jules is deeply interested in all aspects of the experience and suffering that clients face that brings them to the point of needing counselling support. For Jules, the work of therapy is about listening deeply to a fellow human being, or couple, and responding genuinely, in useful ways. Sitting face-to-face with a new client, Jules sees a unique individual (or couple) looking back at her, approaching the unfolding therapeutic relationship and the work to be done with an open, respectful, non-judgemental, compassionate mind. Jules is a highly professional counsellor, while having a grounded and down-to-earth interpersonal style that supports her client’s feeling comfortable in the room, and safely supported.
Utilising multiple modalities, tailored to the needs of the client she is working with, Jules draws on: Existential Psychotherapy, Jungian-Informed and Psychodynamic Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Attachment Theory, Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy and Mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
